Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale has earned three major nominations at the 43rd edition of the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA), one of the most prestigious platforms celebrating excellence in reggae, dancehall and world music.
The nominations were announced during the official 2026 unveiling in Kingston, Jamaica, ahead of the awards ceremony set for May 17. Shatta Wale is nominated for Best African Dancehall Entertainer, a fiercely competitive category recognising top-tier talent across the continent. He also picked up a nod for Best Music Video for his standout visual, Street Crown, as well as a nomination for Concert of the Year for his annual festival, Shattafest a flagship event renowned for attracting massive crowds and commanding significant industry attention.
The triple recognition caps off a strong run for the dancehall star, underscoring his consistency and expanding global presence within reggae and dancehall circles.
The 43rd IRAWMA will be held at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Florida, bringing together legendary acts and contemporary stars from the Caribbean, Africa and beyond. With public voting now open, fans have the chance to support their favourites ahead of the live ceremony in May 2026.
