DJ Spinny (real name Joseph Kalisa) is delighted to have made it to the Hotlist Africa Top DJs of 2024 after being ranked 21st among the continent’s most influential and talented deejays.
The list which is released annually, celebrates DJs across Africa and Spinny’s inclusion on the list is a huge milestone in his career highlighting his remarkable contribution to East Africa’s entertainment scene.
Over the years, DJ Spinny has been mastering his art and this is the right time to claim his spot as one of the best in East Africa for his high-tempo sets, seamless genre-blending, and ability to captivate diverse audiences.
His influence extends beyond the decks as he continues to push boundaries and redefine Uganda’s music culture.
Speaking about the recognition, he thanked everyone who has been a part of his journey for the support they have always accorded him to achieve such a goal.
The other Ugandan DJ to have been recognized as a female deejay is DJ Vee.
Being named among the best DJs in Africa is a great honor. It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication, and love for music that I’ve poured into my craft. I’m proud to represent Uganda on this list, and I thank everyone who has supported me on this journey.
